Website – Albany Speculative Fiction Writers Group

without comments

Yesterday I registered a DNS for the Albany Speculative Fiction Writers Group, and this evening I have put a quick webpage up with two downloadable flyers. Nothing lends an instant air of credibility than a nice website with a reasonable domain name.

Too bad I couldn’t get the “”, but it has strict rules. For a start, the organisation has to actually exist and also be registered, and I’m not at that point with this idea. The rules are designed people registering a domain name to simply promote some product or service, and I think they’re entirely reasonable. However, I needed to get something there quickly to keep the momentum I have, hence registering a .org which has basically no rules at all. I want to give this every chance to succeed!

I don’t think it’s a bad looking website for something that was just thrown together! Actually refreshing to do something so simple as a basic website with a few flyers. Although I’m a bit of a fraud in some ways — for the flyer’s I’ve reused the graphic from The Outpost and another from a piece of “fan art” I did a few months back :-)

I’ll probably move it over to be a Wordpress site later.
